Attorney Deadra Woods Stokes is a native Chicagoan who was admitted to practice law on May 6, 1996. She grew up in the Hyde Park community and graduated from Kenwood Academy in 1983. Upon graduation she attended Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa before being led to apply to Xavier University in New Orleans by her mentor, Dr. Charles Bradley, founder of the Chicago Area Health and Medical Careers Program (CHAMCP).
In June, 1988 she received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a minor in Biology. Upon graduation, Attorney Stokes was employed by several corporations including, but not limited to, Safety Kleen Corporation and Chicago Bridge & Iron Company as an Environmental Specialist. Prior to attending law school, Attorney Stokes was employed for three years with the United States of Department of Labor as an Industrial Hygienist for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. While working at the US Department of Labor, she decided to further her education and was admitted to Chicago Kent College of Law.

Attorney Stokes has practiced for over 19 years and her experience has covered a broad spectrum.
Over the years she has conducted seminars on estate planning and wealth management. Her passion is to assist and advocate for those who have experienced hardships and are striving to rebuild and restructure their finances. It is this passion that operated to create the partnership with Attorney Lloyd Brooks who is an outstanding advocate and attorney who concentrates in foreclosure defense.

She has taught Business Law as an Adjunct Professor at Governor's State University located in University Park, Illinois.
Attorney Stokes has been a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, incorporated since 1986, and as a committee co-chairperson for the Home Preservation Committee in the Joliet Area South Suburban Chicago Chapter (JASSAC). This chapter received a National award for providing community grants to local residents who were facing foreclosure in 2010.
She currently is the President of South Suburban Chicago Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated, and has served in this capacity since June, 2013. She has served on several boards for various organizations such as South Suburban Pads, RESPOND NOW, and United Way Southwest.
In her spare time, Attorney Stokes loves to read, exercise and spend time with her husband of 16 years, their three daughters, her mother, and immediate family members.
